Deadline reflection

I stuck to all my deadlines for each stage of the project including: research, planning, first draft construction, second draft construction and final construction. However looking at my calender I planned to do particular tasks on specifc days, and I did not stick to this schedule completley because I realised some areas needed to be done instead of others. For example I was planning to do a whole week of working on my ancillary task, but I realised I also had to work on editing my promo and not just my ancillary in order to meet my deadline. I felt the system of balancing out music promo and ancillary weekly worked really well and aided me to meet my deadlines and keep up to date with the work load.

Some of the deadlines from the calendar altered slightly, but not matter what day it got moved to I made sure I was organised and did all the work to meet them. Overall I felt I was very good at time keeping and I kept a constant pace which worked for me, through the entire project. I am pleased with myself that I met every deadline because missing one deadline means it would affect whether you meet the next deadline, which is why I found it so important to do the work.

Calendar

 

This calendar helps me to see how long I have for each section of my project and therefore helps me to organise my time. I have colour co-ordinated the calendar to make it clearer for me and so I can see which section is which. As you can see, I have used pink for the planning stage,  navy blue for the deadlines, light blue for the ancillary task, orange for filming, green for editing promo and red for the days where I should be working on my final ancillary and muisc promo. I will begin with starting the ancillary task on the 12th October and then the music promo filming on Tuesday16th October, and then edit it and ensure I can hand in my first draft of the music promo on the 22nd October. I will then continue with my ancillary task. Whilst still working on the task I have to ensure that I am filming and editing constantly so I can meet the second deadline for my music promo second draft. I then have to ensure that my final music promo and final ancillary task is completed by the 29th November.

Focus group/target market: Explain who my target market is and why- 3 or 4 teenage girls to watch a video from real media artefacts and ask them questions about it (interview and video their responses)

Real media artefacts: Analyse music videos, digipaks and promotional posters etc

Interview: Interview target market about what they think about the music video and why they like it. Video and upload.

Product placement: What music channel would the video be played on? What time during the day will it be on? Would the single be sold in music shops such as HMV? Supermarkets?

PLANNING
Ideas: analyse song lyrics, meaning of the songs, camera shots which could be used

Pitch the song choice: Why have I chosen this song?

MES choices: Photos of many different location ideas, filming session without actors to know where lighting is, test shots, analyse locations why/why not there suitable

Layouts: 3 layours for album and 3 for poster/magazine advert

Storyboard: Draw storyboard for song including the camera shots which will be used in each scene and upload with song track.

Letter of acceptance to be filmed: Upload email which I have sent to record label and a letter to the cast who will be in my music video

Filming schedule: Calendar showing dates of when I am going to film
